Poker Run at Runt's Roadhouse
Runt's Roadhouse will be hosting a
poker run to benefit the Butler County
Humane Society on Saturday, June 2,
2012. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. at
Runt's Roadhouse and ends with a dinner
buffet at Runt's. The entry fee of $15
per rider and $10 per passenger
includes the dinner buffet.
All proceeds from this event will go
to the Butler County Humane Society.

Rabies Clinics
Rabies vaccinations are $10 per vaccination.
If you bring the records of your dog or cat's
last rabies vaccination, you may be eligible to
receive the three year vaccine rather than the
one year vaccine. There is no additional charge
for the three year vaccine.

Butler
County Humane Society is pleased to welcome our
new Executive Director Lynette Vybiral to the
team.
Lynette brings to the Butler County Humane
Society a wealth of non-profit and fundraising
knowledge. She got her start at the Jewish
Federation of Greater Atlanta where she spent
six years in the Development Department
managing and participating in campaigns and
events, including an emergency Capital Campaign
and a community event for over 7,000 people.
After moving back home to Pittsburgh in 2005,
Lynette became the Director of Individual
Giving at Pittsburgh Opera where she managed
the mid and major level donor accounts for the
Opera, as well as cultivation and appreciation
events for the donors.
Most recently, she worked at WQED Pittsburgh,
the local PBS station, in the Development and
Membership Department. In addition to working
with the mid and major donors, she also managed
a partnership volunteer appreciation event that
recognizes motivating individuals in the art
communities in Western Pennsylvania.
Her true inspiration and appreciation for
animals began with her orange tabby Maine Coon,
Oliver. While always an animal lover, Oliver
opened her heart to the "language" of animals
and her house has never been without a pet
since. She is quite happily owned by 2 dogs and
4 cats and currently resides in Avalon. |

BCHS Shelter Tours
|
The Butler County Humane Society provides tours of
the facility to local groups and organizations such as
the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and youth groups. Any
group or organization is welcome.
The tours last about 1 hour and are held in the
evenings. The cost is $2.00 per
person. We offer discounted rates for groups
over 15.

About Us
The Butler County Humane Society is proud to serve pets
and people in Butler County through our programs. We
are dedicated to providing the highest quality care
possible to the nearly 2,000 homeless dogs and cats we
care for each year and to the education, safety, and
health of all of the animals in Butler County. The
Butler County Humane Society is a non-profit
organization that relies solely on community support.
All the shelter animals have been through some
difficult experiences. Losing their former home and
ending up at the shelter is not an easy thing for any
animal to go through. In addition to the bewilderment
of finding themselves at our shelter, they often
display signs that they are grieving for their former
human companions. The routine at the shelter, while not
the same as a loving home, helps the animals adjust to
their new situation. But even with our very best
efforts to create an environment where the shelter
animals feel safe and not unhappy, being in a cage in a
shelter is a difficult experience.
The BCHS, through its training and foster programs,
helps the animals begin to understand what is expected
of them in their interactions with people. Mostly what
they need is your patience, understanding, and time to
adjust to their new surroundings.
